“I Need A Dollar” singer Aloe Blacc goes to Ghana with Malaria No More

This heartwarming short film follows American soul singer Aloe Blacc on his first trip to Ghana in Spring 2012 as an ambassador for UK charity Malaria No More UK. Malaria No More has a goal to ensure every home in the country has a mosquito net and Aloe was going to see how they are getting on in one of the most at-risk countries in Africa. Nets are the key to curbing malaria, a disease that affects so many people, especially women and children. Not only does the video conclude with the good news that already 40% of Ghana now have access to mosquito nets (that’s 10 MILLION people!) we also see a jubilant rendition of  Aloe’s hit “I Need A Dollar” with a little help from a class of children who suffered with malaria in the past. Aloe helped us be a great witness to the work Malaria No More are doing to fight the disease as well as raising vital awareness for our cause.

Good timing as this is a good reminder to us all as we’re in the run up to World Malaria Day on the 25th of April.
